Today we conclude “Pointing People To Jesus”; a message from Pastor Jim Shaddix that is directly tied to an upcoming event here in Denver, Colorado. The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) is hosting “Rock the Range”; a youth and family oriented event featuring contemporary Christian music artists, and the gospel presentation as only Franklin Graham can give.
If you know anything about BGEA, you know that their outreach to the lost and hurting centers around “Operation Andrew”; which simply put, is people who know Christ, inviting those who don’t to hear the gospel. Within Operation Andrew are 2 emphases; prayer, and the actual invite to participate. This is where you come in. We know that most people reading this are nowhere near Denver, but we can and will ask you to pray. Pray that hundreds, if not thousands, who don’t have that life-saving relationship with Christ, will accept the invitation to attend.

The Mystery of Marriage

Marriage…. It is, and has been a foundational part of civilized cultures all over the world. But, in case you hadn’t yet heard, traditional marriage has become a very politicized subject, with many special interest groups attempting to push their definition of marriage.

In 2006, Pastor Jim, preached a series of messages on marriage entitled, “The Mystery of Marriage”. No, this was NOT a commentary on the current political quagmire, but instead, a biblical review of the origins and significance of marriage. About Dr. Jim Shaddix

Dr. Jim Shaddix has been the Senior Teaching Pastor of Riverside Baptist Church in Denver, Colorado, since 2005. He came to Riverside from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary where he served as Dean of Chapel and Associate Professor of Preaching, and directed both the Professional Doctoral and Field Education programs. Jim earned his Master of Divinity (1986) and Doctor of Ministry (1992) from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and then went on to earn a Doctor of Philosophy in Preaching (1996) from New Orleans. He is the author of two books, The Passion Driven Sermon forwarded by John MacArthur and Power in the Pulpit co-authored with Jerry Vines.
