The rationale is simple - if the soldiers are to face the stress of war, there must be a spiritual component in their lives. As Christians, we are exhorted to grow and become more like Christ. Our salvation was never intended to be static. It was intended to make us more Christlike now - in this life.

The Blood of the Cross of Christ gets little "press" these days. The entire subject of the Blood is either ignored or abused in today's circles. Perhaps it is thought to be too old of a truth to have any modern value to this generation? The fact that we are purchased by His blood, and sanctified by it, renders us sacred in the eye of God. It bestows a value on us proportionate to the worth of the price of our redemption. Peter calls it "precious."
