Answers in Genesis founder Ken Hamm visits with Gerry at the Creation Museum in Cincinnati, Ohio. Ken shares how he as a teacher started to realize how many students were being affected by evolution and began to seek God on how to share the truth of creation. The listeners are off to the Panhandle of Alaska in Sitka, to meet Kyle Ferguson. Kyle shares how as a little boy he planned on joining the Army and was diagnosed with an illness that called for his discharge. He prayed to receive Christ and started doing the second thing he had planned after the Army, which was becoming a police officer. This interview closes with a “the rest of the story” which has to do with an unborn baby and the decision that The Fergusons had to make about terminating the pregnancy.

This weeks interview is with Buddy Davis at the Creation Museum in Cincinnati, OH. Gerry and Buddy talk about his adventure with four other men inside the Arctic Circle where they looked for unfossilized dinosaur bones. Ray Howell joins Gerry at the Fathers to Future Men Pheasant Hunt in South Dakota. Ray relates how his dad leaving when he was five years old impacted his life in such a way that as an adult he set goals and accomplished many things. Ray founded the outreach to kids who have behavioral issues/all children called Kicking Bear. There are many lives being changed and people coming into the kingdom because of their events that introduce young people to the outdoors.

The founder of Hooked for Life Trevor Ruble shares about his father leaving when he was a little boy which caused him to be consumed with fishing to soothe his pain. Trevor created this outreach of teaching fishing to kids and families in order to incorporate the Gospel and biblical connotations as each angling lesson is learned.

This adventure takes place in Petersburg, Alaska as Gerry had the opportunity to help KRSA’s Sharathon in October and speak in a number of locations in this part of Alaska and in Anchorage too. Gerry speaks to Lou Ulrich who is responsible for acquiring sponsor support for this station’s location and the one in Glenallen KCAM. Lou shares some interesting stories about snowmobiling and how a friend came to Christ because of a first time trip on a dog sled.

Brian Wahlberg is the director of Camp Calvary located in the foothills of the Blue Mountains of Pennsylvania. Brian shares with Gerry and the listeners of the early years at the camp and how terrible were the conditions of the lodge and the few other facilities there. Now this is probably the best equipped “for having fun” camp that Gerry has ever seen, and Brian tells how prayer has been a major part of acquiring the things they now have. Anchorage, Alaska is the location of this weeks interview as Gerry visits with wildlife biologist Dave Battle. Gerry and Dave look at his growing up in the outdoors, and his college studies that caused him to question the existence of God. It was Dave’s science class and studying the various skulls of mammals that began to build on his upbringing in the church that there was a Creator God.

About Dean Hulce

Dean Hulce was born and raised in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where he spent every weekend in the woods or on the water with family and friends.  After graduation he married his highschool sweetheart Linda.  They have two boys and 5 grandchildren. 

Dean has written for several hunting and fishing magazines over the last 25 years. He has guided  hunters and fisherman as well as run hunting fishing camps from South Texas to Alaska and many states and provinces in between.  In the last 10 years Dean has written a daily devotional that goes out to thousands each day. He had published 5 devotional books, using hunting stories to bring a message to people.  He has traveled across the USA speaking to groups, spreading the gospel through outdoor experiences.

Dean has no doubt that God has prepared him his entire life for his position with God's Great Outdoors Ministry
