Why the Old Fundamentalism is Cracking - More Sexual Harassment Rumors

February 17, 2014
Kevin Swanson talks about how to deal with more sour rumors spreading concerning Bill Gothard and the ATI program. Then, we move on to a discussion concerning the old fundamentalism from the 1930s - 1970s. This movement is cracking and turning either self-consciously anti-nomian, outrageously apostate. . . or it turns to a more biblical balance. Funny how these things work.

The liberal press is excited about the potential apostasy that they see happening in 2014. More Marxism, more homosexuality, more "inclusiveness," and more millennials leaving church. Exciting times. Kevin Swanson points out the differences between liberals and conservatives when it comes to widows and orphans. Liberals kill babies, and destroy the families of the inner city poor by their approach to "charity" or "welfare." Christians adopt babies, and lay down their own lives and livelihood for the poor.

Francis Schaeffer talked about the escape from reality and the crossover the line of despair in the 1960s. The crossover is almost complete now. David Kapelian from World Net Daily chronicles the huge increase in the use of mind-altering drugs among Americans (either on the street or over-the-counter). What does this mean for the country? What does this mean for the future economy of this nation? Kevin Swanson and Steve Vaughan interact with the data.

Scotland is considering the "brilliant" idea of providing guardians for every kid in the country. The goal is to tyrannize as many families as possible, to try to help the couple of kids who could use some help from somebody besides some bureaucrat. Kevin Swanson also takes a look at the results of 40 years of welfare and social services on families in America. Turns out that social services funding ruins more families than it fixes.

Humanist, evolutionary sociologists suggest that the break down of marriage will bring about the break down of civilization. Of course, you can argue for evolution either way. Kevin Swanson urges Christians to just go with what the Bible says. Stick with 1 Cor. 7:1,2, and 1 Tim. 5:14. Will the present attack on marriage and the family ruin our civilization? Conservative sociologists and historians think so. What shall we conclude?

More young people are delaying marriage than ever before, and they may live to regret it. Some just want to "make an impact" in politics or in business before marriage. Or they may be "having fun" being single, and in the process miss the calling God has designed for them. It turns out that God knows more about living the fulfilled life than the existentialist materialists of the day. Here Kevin Swanson interviews Candice Watters from Boundless.org, author of "Get Married - What Women Can Do to Help it Happen." Candice speaks to the power of mentorship in a young woman's life in preparing her for the true purpose God has laid out for her future.

Does man-cause the drought or does God cause the drought? Does man sin against mother earth, or does man sin against God? Different worldviews offer different answers to these questions. While abortion rates are the lowest since Roe v. Wade, there are reasons for this. It doesn't appear as if the nation is on a reforming bent yet. Kevin Swanson suggests prayer and repentance as the right way to handle droughts. President Obama, are you listening?

Coca-cola celebrates homosexuality in its recent Super Bowl ad to the tune of Katherine Bates' America the Beautiful. Huff Post turns around and says, "Don’t worry about it. Katherine Lee Bates might have been a lesbian anyway." Kevin Swanson says that it takes a pretty fouled up mind to turn all phileo love into some form of abominable eros. Then the Russian President chastises America for its godless character. Strange world out there.

In what may have been the largest, most downloaded creation debate in history, Ken Ham faced off with Bill Nye (the Science Guy) at the Creation Museum in Kentucky. Kevin Swanson provides the play by play action, and centers in on the limitations of science. Could all of this boil down to the pride of scientists who cannot admit to the limitations of their field (whether historical or observational)?

Shall Christians be involved in politics, even in a "post-Christian" nation? Those that discourage us from seeking righteousness and liberty in the public sphere, are they opposing the crown rights of Christ over all things? These are serious questions, that should be examined carefully by true Christians. Kevin Swanson interviews Pastor Joe Morecraft, author of "With Liberty and Justice for All" on Christian involvement in government and current political strategies for Christians.

Will France join Germany and Sweden in the ongoing persecution of home educators in these Western states. The survival of faith through the generations will have something to do with the survival of the family and family-based discipleship. Kevin Swanson calls for reformation of family, church, and state in this edition of Generations. Will freedoms survive? Much of this depends on whether churches all over the west will preach God's standards of law. We also speak with Ryan Elliot on the Reforming Families Conference at the Creation Museum.
