A full 92% of American girls own a Barbie doll. The originator copied Barbie off a German Prostitute Doll used as a gag gift at stag parties. Now the feminists are upset that Barbie objectifies the female body, and created “the standard look” for girls in the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s. Do Christians agree with feminists? Not exactly. We take a look at a biblical perspective of Barbie, body image, and objectification on this edition of the program.

The murder of 14-year-old Nicole Lovell has raised the attention of a nation, for several reasons. All involved have a Christian background. The accused 19 year old Virginia Tech student is a Lutheran, and she was active in teaching a Church Camp. The accused 18 year old Virginia Tech student was 9 years in a school called Riverside Christian School in Washington State, where he was an all-state athlete. The victim 14 years old was active at her Auburn Baptist Church in hometown, Virginia. Why do "good" kids to bad things? We harken back to the Leopold-Loeb trial, and discuss both nature and nurture. Does bad nurture excuse the works done by a bad and corrupt nature? We discuss the influences of the world and the devil. These are not to be ignored, They help to explain the wicked acts committed, that you read on the front page of the newspaper. But the real problem . . . is the heart. This program includes:1. The ideological distance between Bill Clinton and Bob Dole was about 38%. The distance between Bernie Sanders and Ted Cruz is 380%. It’s hard to tell where this nation is going to end up, since the establishment has been jettisoned. One thing is for sure, God will do what He wants with America. The problem of slothful men will be endemic in a world where boys are raised without fathers, and where faith and character in general is at a premium. What to do with a lazy son who will not work? What does the church do with a lazy husband who offers a hundred excuses why he can't work and provide for his own household? We suggest that Paul's advice is sufficient. This program includes:1. From caring for children to caring for parents in their failing and ailing years, there are very real spiritual challenges along the way. . . especially when we discover that we cannot fix every problem by institutional care. Sometimes God calls us to really get involved in the business of loving the needy. Marcia Washburn, the author of the new book, "Home-based Eldercare", tells the stories and provides practical help on this edition of Generations. This program includes:1. Carl Sagan, Isaac Asimov, Robert Heinlein, Arthur Clarke, Gene Roddenberry, H.G. Wells. . . Atheists. . . Agnostics. . . Promulgators of the new religion called "scientism." We discuss these powerful ideas that have captured the imagination of modern man. Then, we ask the question - Should Christians be reading this stuff? How long does one sit in the seat of the scoffer, to be really sitting in his lap, for example? This program includes:1. It is the most educated, the most unemployed, and the most sexually radicalized generation. And, the amazing characteristic of this millennial generation — the milieu is virtually homogenous across every boundary, throughout every nation in the developed world. There is hardly a nation that would break the rule. They inherit a debt-ridden, economically-volatile world. Is there any way to oppose the trends and break the rule for the rising generation? Education won’t fix it. Governments can’t fix it. Biblical discipleship is the key for the next generation. . . more than ever. This program includes:1. We tell the story of David Daleiden and the Grand Jury in Harris County, Texas. It's a true David and Goliath condition. David spends $120,000 and Goliath gets $500 million from the United States Federal Government. Also..it is uncanny. Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump sound just like their pastors. Here we contrast the candidates with the teachings of the United Methodists and Norman Vincent Peale. This program includes:1. The 27 club is made up of Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Amy Winehouse, and others -- rock singers, all dead at 27. The Fifth Commandment does mean something and so do Proverbs 3:2 and Proverbs 10:27. We also walk through the relationship of country music with the Christian faith. Is it more shallow today than ever before? This may be, because country music follows the heartland of the country. We provide a few guidelines to determine whether a folks song, a love song, or a gospel song is edifying or not. This program includes:1. Some conservatives call Trump the last great hope for America. Others have called him a dangerous man. A little humble repentance would have helped his reputation among Christians. Is there any hope for America? Are these brave slogans about making America great just a bunch of hot air? We take a look at the rising pessimism among conservative talk show hosts, comparing it to the optimism that needs to characterize Christians. Conservatives want immigration controls, school uniforms for kids, and more Cicero and less Michael Moore in the public schools. Of course, none of that will ever salvage the republic. What do Christians want? Repentance, God’s mercy, and the fear of God as the beginning of wisdom. This program includes:1.
