When Life is Tough Part 7 - Invariable Love in a Changing World

July 29, 2010
How do you know that God loves you and always will? How do you know that no matter what kind of sneaky, underhanded scheme Satan comes up with to attack you, God will be there for you? How do you know that no matter how badly you blow it, God will forgive you and welcome you back with open arms? Because He said so! Today we bring you another study from Romans chapter eight, as we look at verses 35 through 39. Here Paul writes eloquently and powerfully about what we have in Christ Jesus.

Have some problems in your life? Maybe you’re tempted to think God has forgotten about you, abandoned you, or He’s punishing you for some reason? Here’s a truth to cling to in this world of uncertainty: Nothing can separate you from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus. That should put our hearts at rest. With that said, we need to stress that this only applies to the Christian. Today on Focal Point, pastor Mike Fabarez highlights the last few verses of Romans eight, and they are very encouraging. On this Wednesday, we spotlight an invariable love in a changing world.

The Oil Spill in the Gulf, tension in foreign lands, financial difficulty, an illness, or death. I could go on and on citing examples of things that Satan will use to unsettle our hearts. Is there anything we can do when enemies threaten you and I like this? I’m glad to say there is, and today on Focal Point, we’ll see the real need to be fearless as Christians. We have a God that is not only for us, but He’s with us. And that’s all we need to know, to extinguish any worry or fear in our hearts. Pastor Mike Fabarez takes us back to Romans eight.

We all go through difficult times, and isn’t it a comfort when someone comes along with just the right word at just the right time? Today we’re going to visit Romans eight, and it has just what we need to hear when life is tough. God is with us, and God is for us! It doesn’t get any better than that! Pastor Mike Fabarez says when needs arise on the heals of adversity, we can be confident.

We all go through seasons when life is tough. Today on Focal Point, we want to look at those difficulties through the lens of Romans eight. By the end of our time together we want to arrive at the place where we can actually rest in God’s management of all things. Pastor Mike Fabarez is in a series called, “When Life is Tough.” Now we’ve already established that Romans 8, verses 28-30 is addressed to those who love God. If that describes you, we can go on to understand the good God is working toward in your life.

Do you trust God? How about when life is tough? Do you believe that He knows what’s best for you? Today on Focal Point, Pastor Mike Fabarez will bring us more of his study in Romans chapter eight, verses 28 through 30. It all centers around God’s providence. The place to start is to make sure we love God. Because if we don’t, what we’re about to hear doesn’t apply to us.

When you think about the greatest words ever written, many great works and writers come to mind. F Scott Fitzgerald... Ernest Hemingway.... even political speeches like Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address. Today on Focal Point, we’ll begin a study of Romans chapter eight, verses 28 through 30....and some would say, three of the greatest verses ever written, and a source of comfort and joy! Pastor Mike Fabarez is quick to point out it’s addressed to Christians, so we need to make sure we love God in order for this to apply.

As we’re driving around, it’s important to know where your blind spots are, in order to prevent an accident. It’s also a good idea to keep in mind the blind spots of the drivers around you. Today on Focal Point pastor Mike Fabarez is going to raise our awareness to three blind spots related to our prayer lives. We’ll see what those are as we move along in our new series, “When Life is Tough.” The first point Mike wants to make is that we don’t always see the will of God.

When you’re going through a rough patch, what do you normally do? If you’re like most, maybe you make a few phone calls to those who are close to you? Some of us start worrying about it, and others start thinking about the possible moves they can take to remove the pain. The first thing we need to do is pray. That’s actually the most important thing as well. Today on Focal Point pastor Mike Fabarez encourages us to pray through our painful trials, as we get back into his series “When Life is Tough.”

The doctor says, “You’ve got cancer!” Your boss tells you your services are no longer needed. Your child is in a terrible accident. What do you do? Today on Focal Point,be encouraged to stop and pray. That’s the place to start, and yet too few Christians actually do that. Pastor Mike Fabarez is in the midst of a series called, “When Life is Tough.” And when life gets tough, we need to pray all the more, as we’ll see today.

The vast majority have a focus on the here and now. Is that where your focus is? If it is, let’s be encouraged to shift that focus from the present life, to eternity, today on Focal Point. To do so will be rough, because we’ll groan for something we don’t have yet. But God is willing to give us strength and patience if we’ll look forward and keep our eyes on Him.
