Training People to Serve Christ

Every Sunday, as the offering plate is passed across the aisles, members of the congregation are invited to give back a portion of what God has given to them.  But why should we tithe regularly?  And what does generosity have to do with fulfilling the Great Commission?  On this edition of Focal Point, Mike Fabarez continues our series looking at our Big Assignment by examining the role of generosity.

Teaching People to Be Like Christ To be a good student and really excel in school, it’s important to take notes, do your homework, and study well for tests.  But do we apply those same principles for learning when it comes to being students of God’s Word?  On this ediotion of Focal Point, Mike Fabarez examines our role as we listen to, and read, Scripture.  As we become better pupils, we’ll be better prepared to tackle what Mike Fabarez calls, The Big Assignment.

Teaching People to Be Like Christ They say that “Failure to prepare, is preparing to fail.”  And that’s especially true when it comes to living out the Great Commission. Without a clear game plan, our attempts at making disciples could fall flat. Fortunately, God has given us the ultimate manual on sharing the Gospel with others. On this edition of Focal Point, Mike Fabarez reminds us that as we prepare for "The Big Assignment", we should be using scripture as our guide. Mike has titled the message…"Teaching People to Be Like Christ"

On this edition of Focal Point, Mike Fabarez describes the role of biblical preaching in fulfilling the Great Commission. Without it, we’re leaving the task of evangelism half- done!  This message is called…"Teaching People to Be Like Christ".

Reaching People For ChristIn order to accomplish a given task, we need to have the right tools.  Jumping into a big assignment empty- handed is a sure-fire way become discouraged… and wind up short of the goal.  In Matthew 29 Jesus commissioned us to make disciples.  But what are the necessary tools that’ll help us achieve this important undertaking?  On this edition of Focal Point, Mike Fabarez describes the resources that’ll help us… and our churches… fulfill the Great Commission.  Mike Fabarez has titled our message, "Reaching People For Christ"

Reaching People For ChristOn a scale of one to ten… how you would rate the teaching at your church?  How about the worship service?  Or the children’s ministry?  There’s no doubt these areas of the church are important… but they don’t trump the most significant component of an effective church.  On this edition of Focal Point, Mike Fabarez asks an important question… how is your church doing when it comes to the critical mission of Reaching People For Christ?  We’re picking up where we left off yesterday in a series called…"The Big Assignment".

Reaching People For ChristWhen it comes to finding a church, we have many different options. Some churches are more conservative in their services. Other congregations are geared to those who are more expressive in their worship and style. But regardless of the differences, all churches should have one primary purpose. On this edition of Focal Point, Mike Fabarez explains that the central component of a healthy church is helping its members meet The Big Assignment.

Responding to the King of KingsAll of us, at one time or another, were held captive by sin. But the moment we put our trust in Jesus, we were set free! Our employer has final say over the affairs of the workplace. But at the end of the day, who is the one calling the shots in your life? On this edition of Focal Point, Mike Fabarez reminds us that as followers of Christ we’re under allegiance to the Ultimate Authority. We’re picking up where we left off in the previous message.

Responding to the King of KingsWhen someone below us on the corporate ladder gives us a task, we may disregard the instruction altogether. But if our boss is giving the ordersthen we’d be wise to listen and get the task done! On this edition of Focal Point, Mike Fabarez begins a new series he calls The Big Assignment. Before we talk about the nature of the exciting mission we’ve been given, it’s important to recognize Who gave us the orders in the first place.

Q & A In a classroom setting, when we have a question about the facts and figures on the chalkboard, we raise our hand and wait for the teacher to call on us. As Christians, we often deal with tough issues and difficult questions. And if you ever wanted to raise your hand and get some guidance now’s your chance! On this edition of Focal Point, Mike Fabarez provides biblical answers to common questions we have about God, the Bible and our faith.
