How to Know You’re Making a Difference

An obituary condenses into a few paragraphs what took a lifetime to accomplish.  And while some people’s final epitaphs may be short and shallow, others may have eulogies that affirm the impact their lives made.  If you were to guess, what would your final description say?  On this edition of Focal Point, Mike Fabarez says we don’t have to wait to know if our lives have eternal purpose and meaning.

How to Know You’re Making a DifferenceAs the days fly by, it’s a constant reminder that life is short.  With the precious time we allotted, we can’t afford to go through the motions without purpose.  In those final moments, when you take inventory of what you’ve accomplished, wouldn’t it be satisfying to know that your life made an eternal difference?  On this edition of Focal Point, Mike Fabarez talks about what it means to live a life of purpose.

A Target You Can’t Afford to MissA major component of Hitting God’s Target for Your Life involves aligning yourself with God’s goals and desires.  It’s about finding out what the Lord cares about and developing a passion for the very same thing.  On this edition of Focal Point, Mike Fabarez reveals a major focus of God’s plan, and that’s for the well-being of His Bride… the church!  And if our Savior’s goal is the welfare of the church, shouldn’t we share the same passion?

A Target You Can’t Afford to MissNo church is without its share of flaws.  Maybe the choir sings out of tune, the building is outdated, or the pastor’s style of preaching could use a little polishing.  There’s no denying that every congregation has a few imperfections.  On this edition of Focal Point, Mike Fabarez gives us God’s perspective of His church.  It’s a biblical view on the Bride of Christ that sees past all the blemishes.

Don’t Try This AloneYou could be at the pinnacle of physical fitness, have all the plays memorized, and exhibit a mountain of confidence.  But if you take the field alone, you’ll never have a chance of winning the game!  On this edition of Focal Point, Mike Fabarez explains that it’s the same way in the Christian life.  Success isn’t found in individual achievement.  Instead, what we learn from Colossians, chapter 1 is that victory comes by working alongside a team.

Don’t Try This AloneSometimes Christianity can feel like a solo exercise.  Many of us read the Bible alone, pray by ourselves, and struggle to faithfully follow Jesus on our own.  Though we’re surrounded by fellow believers, we don’t always take the time to work together.  On this edition of Focal Point, Mike Fabarez challenges us to change our way of thinking.  He points to a passage in Colossians that proves Christianity wasn’t meant to be lived in isolation.  In fact, faith is a team effort!

The Importance of Aiming Most of us have goals we’re striving after.  Maybe it’s to reach the top of the corporate ladder.  Or perhaps create something that puts your name on the map.  Maybe your aspiration is to be the best spouse or parent you can be.  But have you ever stopped to think, what is God’s target for my life?  On this edition of Focal Point, Mike Fabarez poses a thought-provoking question: have we set our sights on God’s calling for our lives?

The Importance of Aiming When it comes to archery, it doesn’t matter how strong your arm is, or how good your bow. If you’re not aiming at the right target, you’re bound to miss the mark! On this edition of Focal Point, Mike Fabarez begins a brand new study in the book of Colossians called Hitting God’s Target for Your Life. We all have different goals in life and many of them are worthwhile. But if we don’t focus on God’s target, we’re just shooting into the wind!

The Creator Knows You It’s not unusual to experience injustice in our world. Whether we’re treated unfairly or we see someone else being taken advantage of, it’s only natural to get a little upset. In our frustration, we might even be tempted to take matters into our own hands and right those wrongs ourselves. On this edition of Focal Point, Mike Fabarez provides a helpful perspective from the book of Psalms. God is fully aware of suffering and we can trust Him to set things right!

The Creator Knows You When we deal with the loss of a job, the failing health of a loved one, or the pain of unfair accusations, we may turn to God to ask some probing questions. “Why is this happening Lord? Where are You? Don’t you care?” On this edition of Focal Point, Mike Fabarez turns to Psalm 139 for answers to honest questions about why we suffer.

The Creator Knows YouWith billions of people in the world and all the problems that occur every day, it’s easy to feel as if our own day- to- day experiences aren’t all that important to God. When we’re dealing with painful circumstances, we might wonder, do you really understand what I’m going through? On this edition of Focal Point, Mike Fabarez presents the conclusion of a thirteen- part series in the Psalms. No matter what we deal with, our struggles are not forgotten or overlooked.
