Maybe like myself you have dogs at home? Some suggest, if you want to get good behavior out of them, that’s best achieved through reinforcing good behavior with rewards. Maybe you do that with your children, or employees at work too! The Bible has quite a bit to say about eternal rewards for the believer in Christ, and Pastor Mike Fabarez is about to show us that we should allow this to motivate us. Perhaps that sounds like an ungodly motivation, when you stop to think of it? In actuality, it’s a very godly motivation, as we’ll soon see.

Within our circles of friendship and in the local church, you can probably think of someone right now that claims to be a Christian, but they really don’t take sin seriously. In fact, they deliberately and continually sin, and show no remorse or repentance. What are we to make of this? For this to happen, pastor Mike Fabarez says it starts with having some challenging friendships. Maybe you’ve run across one of the many TV shows that feature some screaming physical trainers, helping people lose weight through diet and exercise? We need some people to prod and push us in the right direction spiritually speaking, and be willing to do that for someone else too.

About Pastor Mike Fabarez

Mike Fabarez is the founding pastor of Compass Bible Church in South Orange County, California and has been in pastoral ministry for more than 30 years. He is committed to clearly communicating God’s word verse-by-verse and encourages his listeners to apply what they have learned to their daily lives.

Pastor Mike is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute, Talbot School of Theology (M.A.) and Westminster Theological Seminary in California (D.Min.).
