All You Need, Part 1b

June 1, 2012
Our friends…family…health…food to eat…shelter and clothing…there’s so much we have to be thankful for on any given day. No matter how bad our circumstances get, and even on our worst day, we can always be thankful for the grace we have through Jesus Christ. Today on Focal Point, Mike Fabarez talks about "How Grace Can Transform our Attitude." We’re digging into 1 Corinthians 1
References: 1 Corinthians 1:4-9

We all have days when the whole world seems against us. We wake up on the wrong side of the bed only to discover we’re having a bad hair day and late for work! No matter how bad our situation gets we can learn to see things in a positive light when we focus on one very important truth.  Today on Focal Point, Mike Fabarez presents a study in 1 Corinthians and helps us readjust our attitude.

There’s a certain pride that comes in being singled out for an important task. As a child of God, you’re set apart for something special. Today on Focal Point Mike Fabarez continues a study in 1 Corinthians, a letter that was written to “those sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints together with all those who in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Join us and see "How God Wants Us to Act Differently in Our World."

When we say that someone is different it’s not always meant to be a compliment. In our culture, we value fitting in, lookin’ good, and being accepted. However, as followers of Jesus Christ we’re called to be a little different than the norm. Today on Focal Point, Mike Fabarez talks about our calling to be holy, and set apart for God. We’re studying 1 Corinthians 1 discovering "How God Wants Us to Act Differently in our World."

Ever feel like you’re different? Like you don’t blend in with a crowd? Perhaps you’ve been in a situation where you don’t see things the same way as everyone else, and you’re not sure how to fit in. Today on Focal Point, Mike Fabarez talks about the ways we stand out as followers of Jesus. We’re talking about "How God Wants us to Think Differently About Ourselves!"

The earth as we know it randomly came into being billions of years ago. Or at least…that’s what modern science would like us to think! When we take God out of the picture everything’s left up to chance. According to the Bible, you and I have a purposeful calling here on earth! Today on Focal Point, Mike Fabarez presents a study of 1 Corinthians. Ready to stand out from the rest of the world?

It’s possible that no book in the Bible outlines the Gospel more clearly than the book of Romans. In addition to the rich doctrine we find in Romans, we also find personal encouragement for our lives! Today on Focal Point, Mike Fabarez presents the very last message in a series on Romans. Yesterday we began looking at Paul’s closing benediction, and how God strengthens us through the Gospel, and our acceptance before God. Mike Fabarez continues a message titled, "The Profound Encouragement of God."

When you think of someone who’s strong and courageous, who comes to mind? Maybe you think about a soldier going into battle, a daring explorer, or a sacrificial firefighter. Today on Focal Point, we’ll learn why no one has more reason to be bold than those who follow Jesus Christ. We’re picking up where we left off yesterday in a study called, "The Profound Encouragement of God." It’s possible you feel anything but courageous right now. Draw strength from Romans, as you join us for Focal Point.

The task we’re given as followers of Jesus is tough. In fact, if we confront the challenge with our own strength, it’s actually impossible! So where do we go to get the strength to succeed? Today on Focal Point, Mike Fabarez answers that question and explains what to do when we’re feeling spiritually exhausted. It’s the very last message in a study of the book of Romans.

Sometimes we get in the habit of equating godliness with just being nice to people. Often, living up to God’s standards means showing a little “tough love.” Today on Focal Point, Mike Fabarez continues a study in the very last chapter of Romans. It’s part of a series simply titled, "Encouraged." When people quarrel over minor issues and stir up conflict in the church, just being nice to them isn’t God’s prescription to heal the wounds.

These days our culture is moving steadily away from the teachings of Scripture. It’s hard enough to resist the destructive trends and pressures of our society. When we experience negativity and divisive attitudes within the church it can undermine our progress as followers of Jesus. Today on Focal Point, Mike Fabarez continues a message we heard yesterday titled, "Dealing with the Discouragers." Ready to make your congregation a more encouraging place to be? Mike Fabarez offers a practical study in Romans 16.
