For many people, after becoming a Christian, they are unsure of the next step in being a follower of Christ. So often our evangelizing ends at leading people to Christ. However, these brand new Christians then need to understand what their new commitment means and how God wants them to respond. For that reason, Focal Point Ministries is fully committed to equipping listeners with every resource at our disposal to engage men and women in becoming disciples of Jesus Christ. Paul said to the Colossians, “Walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.” (Colossians 1:10 ESV) That’s our mandate.
On your request, we are providing a spiral bound book called, Partners: 1 on 1 Disciple-ship. This is a comprehensive ten-chapter guide that we use at Compass Bible Church to help fellow believers come together in an intentional setting to grow together “in the knowledge of God.”
For some, the word “discipleship” sounds a little intimidating. This resource, however, provides a practical means for walking together in a journey of spiritual growth. It’s not a book filled with my opinions, but with God’s truths! There’s no doubt that the Partners program will take some time and a little work, but the growth that will come is definitely worth it!
The ten chapters in the 200-page workbook are to be studied and completed throughout each week, and each chapter culminates in your weekly meeting with your “partner.” At your meeting, you and your partner will discuss and develop the concepts studied that week. In ten meetings together, you’ll address subjects like these: Being Sure About Your Relationship with God, The Importance of a Good Church, and Striving to Be Holy in an Unholy World.
