Ed Young Television Devotional
“…offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God–this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” >Romans 12:1-2
God is the ultimate Designer. And he has tailor made the ultimate jacket for each of us—a jacket that does more than just cover our physical bodies. God has designed a jacket that covers our moral foul-ups, our emptiness, our sins.
God sent his only son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross to pay for our sins, to cover us with the ultimate garment. And at the end of that transaction, the deal was done. The tailor was satisfied. Our sins were paid in full.
While many people accept God's jacket, they fail to wear it the way he designed it to be worn. If you owned a custom designed, tailor made, Italian silk jacket, you wouldn’t flippantly throw it over your shoulder or hastily tie it around your waist. You’d wear it the way it was designed to be worn for everyone to see.
The same is true with Jesus Christ. Don’t throw Christ casually over your shoulder just so you can claim to own the jacket. Make the ultimate fashion statement and display the full glory of Jesus Christ everyday and in every situation for all to see.
Lord, thank you for designing the perfect jacket to cover my imperfections. Thank you for covering my life with Christ. Help me to live my life as a reflection of him to show others the kind of life that is available to everyone who believe. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
