The prophet or social reformer Jeremiah lived during the most crucial period of Judah's existence as a kingdom. He saw the destruction of Jerusalem and the holy Temple, after he had persistently warned his people to repair their ways before it was too late. Inspite of the warning, Jeremiah was also instructed to bring them courage and hope, and to induce many of them to return to their native land because God still had plans for them. God will never abandon those He loves and who love Him back.
