The Christian's Political Dilemma

April 29, 2013
These days many Christians are rethinking their role in American politics.  By this I mean that many who stayed on the sidelines in the past are now entering the political arena.  Why? We are all sensing that America is in trouble and we need to fight for the soul of our nation but many don’t know quite how to sort it all out or even if Christians should get involved.

"In my view, the Christian religion; is the most important and one of the first things in which all children, under a free government ought to be instructed... No truth is more evident to my mind than that the Christian religion must be the basis of any government intended to secure the rights and privileges of a free people." - Noah Webster

Moral evil is any deviation of a moral agent from the rules of conduct prescribed by God, or by legitimate human authority; it is any violation of the plain principles of justice and rectitude. There are also evils called civil, which affect injuriously the peace or prosperity of a city or state; and political evils, which injure a nation, in its public capacity.  Evil is far reaching and we must be prepared to recognize it in all its forms.

The way tragic events are faced and handled are alarming because things never go back to the way they were.  Evil has always been the same and produces the same fruit.  The Prophet Isaiah says,"woe to them who call evil good, and good evil..."  It seems the world over is calling things that were good for millennia all of a sudden are now evil.  We must tread carefully in our generation because when God's warnings are not heeded the consequences are sure to follow.

Why is it that when tragedy strikes, as the one in Boston or the 9/11 World Trade Center attack in 2001, the word evil comes to the minds of people? And the mass murders we have witnessed are only blamed on mentally ill people and weapons, but, for the most part, not recognized as evil actions? What is wrong with that picture and when are people going to connect the dots?

Things do not happen just because. Ideas have consequences because they all have a source of inspiration.  We are being inundated with conflicting messages from all sides.  How do we filter them all to arrive at truth?  God teaches us the right way to live and it is corroborated through history.  We must learn from the history of nations who have received sanctions for their evil ways.

In the Gospel of Matthew chapter 23 Jesus gave the nation of Israel an indictment.  He told the generation of Israelites that were listening to his teachings that they were going to be the generation that was going to witness the destruction of Israel.  How could this be?  Hadn't God invested thousands of years into forming that nation as a model to the world?  If Israel didn't escape the judgment of God when they persisted in their sin, what makes us think that America will?

Survival of the human race does not depend on man's perspective of the world. The desperate times we are living makes people look to the so-called "experts" of the trends to give us the solution to all the problems that are suffocating the life out of this present generations. Not even the conservative voices that are speaking loudly and consistently can be trusted to be offering viable solutions. When Jesus said that God's kingdom had come to earth, what did He mean?  Are the world conditions that we are seeing really what God's kingdom looks like?

God has the last word in all of history and things happen only by his dictates.  God revealed hundreds of years into the future to a pagan king named Nebuchadnezzar. In a dream God revealed the collapse of all human philosophies and the triumph of His wisdom in the time of Daniel. When the time came for God to reveal His Kingdom here on earth, Christ was born during the occupation and dominion of Israel by the Roman Empire, this was clear evidence of God’s rejection of His chosen people. He was now ready to form a new nation that would produce the fruits of His Kingdom.

How have nations and civilization of the past risen and fallen? What common factors are present in nations that die? From the Bible we learn that God is in control of the nations.  We also see that when nations reach a certain level of sinfulness God's punishment is inevitably and when it comes the strength of those nations is no more.  Is the United States of America on the path to its demise?

Historically great nations rise and fall as do empires. Not many people take that part of history seriously, and yet it is happening before our very eyes without having to reference back into history or cross the oceans. History repeats only because of  man's inclination to do evil; that is the reason for the disastrous outcome.  This applies to everyone even "God's chosen people."

About The Future of America

We want to help restore America's original foundation in biblical Christian principles which made it the most powerful and prosperous nation in the world in a relatively short time but America has not reached it full potential. Ideas have consequences and they are passed on from generation to generation. To eradicate error, the moral and ethical principles of the Bible must be firmly established in the hearts and minds of each individual. If America is going to survive, its citizens must become re-acquainted with its history, heritage and biblical immovable principles and apply them once again to all areas of life. We hope this program will inspire and challenge you so together we can fulfill our responsibility before God and country to make the difference for our generation many generations to come.
