It Is Not The Lesser Of Two Evils Or Our Conscience Part 5

August 19, 2016
It is the citizens who are responsible for their civil government. We are the ones who can demand from the elected officials to act according to the rule of law, they are not little gods; they too are citizens like us. They cannot negate the only universal principles of law and order for social stability. God’s people are called to overcome evil not to run away from it or ignore, tolerate, or lie down and concede.

True Christians should never vote out of loyalty to a party or a person, rather, by understanding the profile of each candidate that is seeking our approval to occupy a public office. We are not called to vote for evil nor do we have a valid excuse for doing so. We are accountable for our vote or the lack there of.

The minefields begin to detonate every election cycle. When electing individuals to public service, if it is done in haste without the proper analysis of who people are or what their background is, something that is very necessary to know the way they think and how they make decisions; hasty emotional decisions hinder good judgment. When those who are running for public office don’t bear God’s fruit.  What do we do?

During an election cycle it is not about voting for the lesser of two evils or our conscience, it is about understanding what God is revealing to us concerning the condition of those who are at the helm of civil government or those who want to be. Many nations profess to be Christians and yet their social outcome is far from manifesting the fruits that corroborate the character and social institutions that represent God’s form of government here on earth as it is in heaven; this includes the United States of America. It is time to change that.

During election cycles, it is not uncommon to hear people say: “choose between the lesser of two evils.” This statement is meant to express when the choice of candidates are so bad that justification must be made to choose the less bad one, how accurate is this view? More importantly, is that what God says in His Word? Putting reality into perspective aligned with the biblical Worldview is a priority for all professing Christians.

No matter what difficulties you may be facing God has a plan for your life. It is impossible for you to be neutral in the face of those difficulties. Doing something significant about the issues of life is the foundation of this country. All issues are important, however, special attention needs to be given to the social issues, because that is where the cultural war is fierce. We can define social issues into two realms secular vs. biblical Christianity and conservatism. That is the crux of the matter.

The situation we are living in demands answers, and those answer demand solutions. The tricky part is, where do the solutions come from and do we know how to filter the ideas that are being promoted? These are dangerous social times. Life has two perspectives, the right and the wrong way. When evil engulfs society people don't do well. We must do all we can to resist this darkness, but how? That is the question.

Neutrality not only does not exist, it is impossible. When it comes to government and politics we are all effected, especially by the laws that govern us.  In America it is impossible for the politicians or any political issue to escape the scrutiny of the biblical worldview. The pulpits of the American Revolution were the primary source for shaping the minds of those who understood the value of liberty under God and urged Christians not only to participate in the war to keep those liberties but also to  participate in politics.

Nowadays you can hardly find someone that would disagree that America’s political system is corrupt. However, corruption is not just in politics and politicians; we can find it in all areas of culture. Corruption is a problem born in the inner self, in the human makeup that is dominated by the wrong ideology of life.  The problem then will be with the voters and the ones they vote into public office. We are to resist corruption wherever it rears its ugly head.

It is not enough to say the nation is accelerating towards her destruction and then turn around and not do anything about it; some questions must be answered beginning with this one: how did we get into this mess in the first place? No Christian, or citizen, is neutral when it comes to social issues and politics. Simply believing that they don't change the outcome nor the social effects of bad policies is wrong.

There's no doubt that knowledge is power, but most important is the source. Satan’s offer of knowledge always leads to corruption and God’s knowledge leads to wholesomeness, and ultimately, this is what will dominate the world. "For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea." (Habakkuk 2:14)

About The Future of America

We want to help restore America's original foundation in biblical Christian principles which made it the most powerful and prosperous nation in the world in a relatively short time but America has not reached it full potential. Ideas have consequences and they are passed on from generation to generation. To eradicate error, the moral and ethical principles of the Bible must be firmly established in the hearts and minds of each individual. If America is going to survive, its citizens must become re-acquainted with its history, heritage and biblical immovable principles and apply them once again to all areas of life. We hope this program will inspire and challenge you so together we can fulfill our responsibility before God and country to make the difference for our generation many generations to come.
