Did Jesus Promote Violence? Part 4

February 16, 2017

When John the Baptist questioned why Jesus was not implementing the promised Kingdom of God or should they wait for another, shows he clearly lacked understanding of God’s full counsel revealed in His Word. The Evangelical Christian church, for the most part, has the same problem in understanding or accepting that Christ already established God’s Kingdom here on earth. How did this detour from the truth happen to the church?

The only way Satan and his followers can succeed is when Christians abandon the battlefield handing over to them the culture in the nations. The world then submerges into cultural darkness when God’s people stop being the salt and light. When the Church/God’s people concede cultural defeat is when they have lost their will to fight and produce the fruit of corruption, compromise, and withdrawal. How does that measure up to the passage we are analyzing in Matthew 11:12?

We must accept the fact that any other foundation without God's righteous government will never succeed. God’s principles are eternal and were in place under Adam and Eve even before their rebellion and continue until all the earth is filled with His knowledge, this reality is constantly a reminder to God’s people in the law, the prophets and the Psalms.  Time will never change these permanent truths.

“From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and the violent take it by force.” Matthew 11:12 (ESV) This statement by Jesus can easily be misunderstood, so it behooves us to endeavor to understand what He meant by such a statement; let’s keep in mind what we are experiencing at this time in American history. There is always a way to faithfully apply God's commands to accomplish God's will on earth as it is in heaven.

We are witnessing a high level of irrationality; all common reasoning or understanding has been trashed because some people didn’t get what they wanted in the presidential election. The bottom line for every one of us is to honestly answer if our reaction is rational or irrational and how does our behavior manifest under the light of good reason judged by history.

Change is inevitable, for thousands of years the question has always been what kind of changes. The biggest and most significant change for humanity took place 2,000 years ago with the coming of Jesus Christ to earth. The Founders understood that Biblical values are the foundation of this republic and that the republic would be destroyed if the people’s knowledge of those values would be lost.

"WE CANNOT READ the history of our rise and development as a nation, without reckoning with the place the Bible has occupied in shaping the advances of the Republic ... Where we have been the truest and most consistent in obeying its precepts, we have attained the greatest measure of contentment and prosperity."--Franklin D. Roosevelt

The experimental form of government by our Founders is a constitutional republic, not a democracy. It is too bad that the Founders missed the opportunity to establish a full Biblical model of civil government. The Founders could have established a democracy in America but they decided not to. The Founders left no doubt that we were not to be a democracy at any time in our history. The majority of Americans are shocked at this.

Every generation has the responsibility to know what they believe as individuals and what their society and nation believes so they can interpret the times. In Luke 12:54-56, Jesus rebuked and admonished the crowd that they could interpret the signs on the earth and in the sky but they had no clue about the times they were living and what they were supposed to do.

There is much turmoil in our nation due to the fact that our true American values were lost long ago or their definition has long been distorted so people no longer know what our national position is on the issues of government, culture and moral values. How about you? How prepared are you to defend our national values?

The events in this country and the world are moving at such an accelerated pace that many are confused especially by the decisions being made by President Trump in his few days in office but that are in keeping with his campaign promises to the American people and exactly the reason why the people voted for him and he won on that platform. So, when a president does what he says he would do and does it, it is not just another change of administration. His or her leadership will be felt even in future generations.

About The Future of America

We want to help restore America's original foundation in biblical Christian principles which made it the most powerful and prosperous nation in the world in a relatively short time but America has not reached it full potential. Ideas have consequences and they are passed on from generation to generation. To eradicate error, the moral and ethical principles of the Bible must be firmly established in the hearts and minds of each individual. If America is going to survive, its citizens must become re-acquainted with its history, heritage and biblical immovable principles and apply them once again to all areas of life. We hope this program will inspire and challenge you so together we can fulfill our responsibility before God and country to make the difference for our generation many generations to come.
