Church and Politics Part 6

October 15, 2008
What is the value of worshiping God? What does it mean to glorify and worship the Lord? One thing is certain it does not mean to get mystical or mythical about it. Throughout centuries many Christians have misunderstood the true meaning and value of worshiping God as they have taken out of context what the Bible clearly teaches. It is time that we reevaluate this perspective.

When the church consistently teaches people about God's righteousness and how it applies to every sphere of life; the impact is strongly evident on culture. Those who founded the United States accepted that the Bible is authoritative on everything and that there is not one single area of human development that is not touched by the Word of God. They were unwavering in their belief!

We have mentioned that the church is broken—if you want to put it in a different perspective—the church is in bondage; it is not as free as most Christians are made to believe. The religion of humanism has rendered the church and her teachings irrelevant for the present and the future of the human race. Why and how did this happen? Because the church failed to teach the full council of God’s revealed truth.

Before the War Between the States, Christianity was encouraged by the civil government to function according to biblical principles. Then in 1861, the radical Unitarians were able to convince the courts that the civil arena should remain indifferent to the church. In 1961 the civil government turned their backs on the original American system of checks and balances with a judicial declaration that it was up to the states to level all religious faiths. By 1963 the courts were promoting and protecting a new religion “humanism.” We certainly know what has happened since then.

We hear that the government is broken and needs fixing, we also hear that the family is broken and needs to be fixed. It is time that we acknowledge that the church is broken and needs to be fixed. Do you agree with that statement?

We hear so much that the church should not be engaged in politics, that there is a wall of separation between church and state and that churches may lose their tax-exempt status if they endorse a political candidate due to the gagging of the church imposed in 1954 and how the church passively accepted to be silenced during political seasons. What most people, especially Christians, need to know is that without the involvement of the churches in politics during colonial times the United States of America would never have existed.

Abraham Lincoln said, "You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time, but you can't fool all the people all the time." I am most confident that if Abraham Lincoln could see what is taking place in American today with all the lies we are constantly being bombarded with day in and day out and how the future of this country is in great jeopardy by how easily the majority of people are fooled in times of elections he would say, "people, stop being fools."

You are a child of God, born again by the spirit of God, washed in the blood of Jesus Christ and heaven is your destination. Anyone who has this hope is truly blessed. However, let us not overlook that while we live in this world and even though it is not our final home or destination, it is in this life that we manifest the reality of what it means to be children of God and born of the Spirit. William Penn stated, "Men must choose to be governed by God, or condemn themselves to be governed by tyrants." So if you were asking yourself, does God care how you vote, the answer is, absolutely!

Some Christians say that certain passages of the Bible are a strong argument to say that the quality of life is more important than the act of being born. They affirm that the Bible supports ending a pregnancy in the face of a life without quality. They say that their interpretation is in fact a biblical mandate to support the use of abortion as a way to improve our quality of life. Are they right? Is there any truth to their affirmations?

In yesterday’s program we mentioned how some Christians and denominations use some passages of the Bible to say God approves abortion. So many Christians are confused about the issue of killing babies in the mother’s womb. Of course, then there are those who reject God’s moral standards who welcome this type of Christianity. Do Bible believing Christians truly believe that God will overlook the massacre of babies indefinitely? Will He not hold all accountable of that innocent blood that cries out to Him for justice day and night?

America is a divided nation; this reality becomes apparent in times when politicians are elected to office. Many are the issues that divide us such as energy, taxes, The Second Amendment, spending, defense, trade, healthcare, justice, crime, war, education, economy, environment, immigration, marriage, labor, judicial activism and social values. All are important but none as important as abortion. America should not continue to legally approve this culture of death from which we will not escape God's wrath.

About The Future of America

We want to help restore America's original foundation in biblical Christian principles which made it the most powerful and prosperous nation in the world in a relatively short time but America has not reached it full potential. Ideas have consequences and they are passed on from generation to generation. To eradicate error, the moral and ethical principles of the Bible must be firmly established in the hearts and minds of each individual. If America is going to survive, its citizens must become re-acquainted with its history, heritage and biblical immovable principles and apply them once again to all areas of life. We hope this program will inspire and challenge you so together we can fulfill our responsibility before God and country to make the difference for our generation many generations to come.
