Matthew 5:48 says "You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect." God's Word is the mirror that reflects back to us who we really are. In the mirror of God's Word we will always see our disarray staring back at us. We clearly see the deficiencies that we have to confront intellectually, emotionally and most of all spiritually. However, God always says what he means and means what He says, and His command to us is to be perfect as our heavenly Father is perfect.

By nature, man knows there is perfection; the question is, where does this knowing come from? We are created in God's image and likeness, and only through redemption in Christ, through a transformational journey can we begin to understand this perfection. It takes constant diligence in God's Word and its application to all areas of life. Nothing else will accomplish true perfection.

We all demand perfection and enjoy it very much. If we, as faulty human beings, have those standards to strive for, what makes us think that God would be any different? So when it comes to His standards, why do people feel that perfection is not necessary, unattainable or perhaps an exaggeration or even fanaticism?

When you acquire a product, do you expect it to be in perfect order?  Of course you do.  We are not a product of course, but why do we think that dealing with God is different and that He will accept a half-baked commitment from us in our walk with him? The sooner we learn that His requirements will never change the more fulfilling our relationship with Him will be and it will be for greater glory to our God.

When the Christian does not transform his or her life on a daily basis it can only go backwards and the results can never be good. There are many reasons as to the "why" a Christian does not go through the new life transformational process and never reaps the benefits of the new creation in Christ. When it comes down to the main reason I find it has to do with the individual reaction to the Word of God as the parable of the Sower, in three of the four Gospels, clearly explains.

The reason people never find fulfillment in their lives, including Christians, has to do with not fully being inwardly complete. For the one who has not reconciled with God through Jesus Christ in the born-again experience, the enormous inward emptiness grows with time reaching a level of deep hopelessness. Nothing can fully satisfy, and life becomes more and more shallow.

Many in the black community are waking others up by removing the blindfolds to be able to see and understand the reality of the slavery they find themselves in by following the wrong voices. The ugliness of internal sin is where all evil takes place. We will never succeed in the external social problems until we deal with the root cause-SIN.

Could the blacks have been set free without the loss of life between the states? Most definitely and here is why: William Wilberforce (1759 -1833), the English Antislavery politician. Was a committed evangelical Christian whose political views were very conservative, and he devoted most of his parliamentary career to the abolition of the slave trade and slavery in England.  He also campaigned for legislation to prohibit the worst forms of child labor. The healing of the races could have been achieved instead of the scars that have been so hard to heal even with the passage of time.

There is a solution to the race problem and it will be fulfilled in time and history. Was the war between the States motivated by the abolition of slavery or preserving the Union? There are two different views for the real reasons for the War Between the States from 1861 to 1865. The most common and accepted one is to liberate blacks from slavery in the South. The other perspective was the expansion of the tariffs, government power, the loss of states sovereignty, and other factors to keep the south from seceding from the union.

American slavery was not in alignment with Biblical slave laws and God's desire for liberty for all mankind. This inconsistency produced an institution that proved too difficult to gradually and peacefully abolish. Thomas
 Jefferson was opposed to slavery yet he thought that once the slaves gained freedom, a peaceful coexistence of whites and blacks would be very difficult to maintain. Jefferson predicted that if the slaves were freed and lived in America, deep-rooted prejudices would divide the nation. He failed to see that with God all things are possible.

In time, the view of slavery changed and most of America's Founders thought slavery would gradually be abolished. Roger Sherman (Roger Sherman was an early American lawyer and politician, as well as a Founding Father of the United States.) said that "the abolition of slavery seemed to be going on in the U.S. and that the good sense of the several states would probably by degrees complete it." However, succeeding generations did not have the character and worldview necessary to complete the task started by the Founders. Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.

We want to help restore America's original foundation in biblical Christian principles which made it the most powerful and prosperous nation in the world in a relatively short time but America has not reached it full potential. Ideas have consequences and they are passed on from generation to generation. To eradicate error, the moral and ethical principles of the Bible must be firmly established in the hearts and minds of each individual. If America is going to survive, its citizens must become re-acquainted with its history, heritage and biblical immovable principles and apply them once again to all areas of life. Nena Arias

Is one of thirteen siblings; born, raised and educated in California. She was brought up in a Christian home, however her personal commitment to Christ happened at the age of seventeen which also included a simultaneous call to missionary work which she embraced with her whole heart. She answered this call and up until the present is actively involved in ministry alongside her husband, Ramon. Nena is an accomplished singer/minister and conference speaker. Her ministry for the last 40 years has taken her to several continents and nations such as, Mexico, Central and South America, Africa, Middle East, Europe, Canada and all across the continental United States and Hawaii.
