Against All Adversity, Part 14

November 4, 2013
Evil can only triumph in the absence of righteous people. And righteous people can only be those redeemed by the Lord and who are producers of God’s kind of fruit (John 15). The fruit is God’s justice implemented in all areas of life in the here and now. Jesus made it very clear that the will of God is to be done on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10). Never at any point in human history did God, Jesus or the Holy Spirit declare Satan’s supremacy over the world.

In our analysis of the early Christians we are seeing that they had effective answers to the conflicts and adversity they faced.  What about us?  The modern-day Christians have no legitimate excuse for their lack of effective presence in the world today because Jesus destroyed the power of sin and the one who had the power of death.  We must also take to heart that because Jesus defeated the influence of evil, humans can also defeat evil.

"The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet." (Romans 16:20).  If God has promised this victory for all true believers why do we expect to see this world defeated over and over again?  God fills with power not only Jesus but every serious believer to produce the same fruit and works like Jesus produced.

Does it make sense that Christians who proclaim the Bible has the answers for a better life, which means a superior culture with all the great benefits, are not showing evidence to that fact? What is wrong with that picture?

For now, humanists, have the upper hand in this country dictating and imposing their worldview. They control education from kindergarten all the way to the universities. Their textbooks influence even most Christian schools.   They constantly attack and ridicule the credibility of the Bible in the classroom. How are we going to combat that aggression? What's your action plan?

From the very first disciples in Israel through the ones who conquered Rome and on throughout the course of two thousand years of history, up until the Founding Fathers of America, Christians have built strong societies in spite of the Church’s historical corruption.  They all had one thing in common: they believed and lived the Biblical worldview!

The way the early Christians conquered the Roman Empire and were victorious over all attacks that came against them is by truly living the Christian life.  They became the most productive citizens of the Empire; their trademark was hard working people. They were hated and persecuted by the government and other citizens. Yet Christians refused to worship the divinity of the Emperor which according to Roman law this was treason.  Many chose to die rather than deny Christ in their lives.  Many times this is the price of faithfulness to our heavenly Father.

The early Christians were exemplery in much of their behavior to impact the known world including when it came to lawsuits among believers as the instructions referenced by Paul in 1 Corinthians 6:1-11.  This is a prime example that the Word of God has all the right perspectives to overcome all the challenges of life here on earth and if they overcame so should we.

For three hundred years the early Christians took advantage of the confusions, uncertainties, hopelessness, fears, frustrations, insecurities, disappoints and much more that people were confronting daily. People desperately wanted answers and the only ones who have them were the committed Christians.  They took full advantage of this opportunity and so should we.

There's no question that early Christians faced great adversity, which makes their accomplishments more awesome and indisputable. As mentioned, they faced all kinds of adversity politically, philosophically, religiously, and even the occult. They succeeded because the Living God was with them and they were committed to Him and His principles. The first generation of Christians lived in an era under an oppressive regime known as the Roman Empire.  Christians in America are beginning to experience great persecution that will only grow in time.  How will we fare in the fight for the Kingdom of God?

It is not hard to understand why those early Christians who understood and experienced the Living God in their every day lives were totally committed to implementing the will of God even in a horrendously cultural climate like the Roman Empire to overcome it.They succeeded because they had God with them, just like Jesus promised.  They knew the difference between God’s real world and the fake world of man.

About The Future of America

We want to help restore America's original foundation in biblical Christian principles which made it the most powerful and prosperous nation in the world in a relatively short time but America has not reached it full potential. Ideas have consequences and they are passed on from generation to generation. To eradicate error, the moral and ethical principles of the Bible must be firmly established in the hearts and minds of each individual. If America is going to survive, its citizens must become re-acquainted with its history, heritage and biblical immovable principles and apply them once again to all areas of life. We hope this program will inspire and challenge you so together we can fulfill our responsibility before God and country to make the difference for our generation many generations to come.
