Significance or Success
by Berni Dymet

Mark 10:43b-44 ...but whoever wishes to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you must be slave of all.

It seems some days that we're living in a world where everybody wants to stand out from the crowd.  Ask just about any teenager - and they want to be a famous something….tennis player or singer or actor or….whatever.

And it's not just the young folk.  Millions of people have their own blog sights on the internet.  It seems that we're only significant if we're noticed.

So many people want recognition for what they do….At work.  At home.  Everybody seems to be clamoring for attention.

And the more TV channels and websites and movies and ….the more of that stuff there is…the less average people like you and me get noticed.

Let me ask you a question.  Do you want significance, or success?  Do you want to make a difference, or to be noticed?  It matters, because there's a big difference.

Jesus had this crazy idea - whoever wants to be great, must be the servant and whoever wants to be first, must be the slave of all.

What do you think?
