The children of Israel were in for a big surprise. Having just been rescued out of Egypt, they had no idea of the full extent of the LORD’s power to bless. God could bless even in the middle of nowhere – and that’s just where they were – in the desert. The mystery of this blessing is hidden in God’s covenant name: The Name – The LORD. God spoke these words, “This is how I will bless... I will put my name on them” (Numbers 6:22-27). We serve a God who blesses. He will not move us forward into the wilderness of this world without the covering of his blessing upon us. He’s got us covered. He will not leave us blessless.
