There is a very basic reality that affects all people. There is sin. There are many ways to deal with sin. We can ignore it. We can pretend it doesn’t exist. Or, we can adhere to God’s Word. God has the last word on sin.

Yet, sin still exists. What do we do? We now have a choice. If we belong to God through the sacrifice of Christ, we must bow to God’s plan. God’s plan is that we confess our sins. Any other choice is not the will of God for our lives. John describes failure to admit to sin as a life of deception and living in darkness. John wrote that “God is light.” Since this is the truth, we must bow to the light. Confession of sin is the way of life for the believer. Confession of sin is bowing to the light.
