Advice focuses on fixing the problem; counsel focuses on the person and understanding their need. God expects men to be the counselor in the home. God in His Word offers men the help they need to counsel wisely. Start with Scripture and pray for the Holy Spirit's wisdom and help, so that you're prepared to give counsel. For dads, find a solution to the problem isn't the only goal but your counsel is to train your children to make wise choices based on God's Word.
