Wisdom and the Power of Words

We've all experienced the power of words for good and for evil. God wants us to use words wisely and His wisdom can help us to identify hasty words that lead to more trouble; lying words that deceive and destroy; and hurtful words that incite hatred, or slander, gossip and harshness or anger. On the flip side, God's wisdom helps us identify instructive words which build up others; inspiring words that are pleasant, uplifting and do good to others; and timely words which bring peace, encouragement, instruction and even rebuke in a way that's better received. Wisdom also keeps us from using too many words, from speaking what's unnecessary that often leads to trouble and even sin.

About Woodrow Kroll and Tami Weissert

Tami Weissert is the co-host on Back to the Bible. She is also Executive Vice President for the ministry.
