Christianity and the Masonic Lodge: Are They Compatible? - Part 1

June 25, 2010
Thirty-second degree Freemason Bill Mankin states that Freemasonry has no symbolism or teaching to make it a religion and it doesn't conflict to be a Christian and a Freemason. Cults expert Dr. Martin responds by citing Masonic rituals, oaths, and prayers in explaining that Freemasonry is without a doubt a distinct religious system which teachings and rituals are in contradiction to Christianity.

How did the early Christians know which books to include in the Canon of the New Testament and which to keep out? If today, we don't have the original manuscript copies of the books and letters of the apostles, how do we know that we have what they originally wrote? Are there really 400,000 manuscript variants in the copies of the New Testament that have come down to us? Do these variants affect any cardinal doctrine of the Christian faith?

Through novels, a myriad of books, and television specials, the media has conveyed radical new information about Jesus to the public that contain conversation stoppers for Christians. People might ask, Isn't history written by the winners, and now that we can hear the losers via the Gnostic gospels, don't we need to revise the Bible' s story? Wasn't Jesus married and had a daughter in France? Did the apostles forget all that they had seen and heard from Jesus only 50 days after he died? What was the core apostolic message? Could the apostles and companions of the apostles have written a completely new story about Jesus in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John? During the period of time when the early Christians did not have the New Testament, how did they know what was true Christian belief and what was not? Listen and learn how to answer such questions.
