Ask, Search, Knock
by Berni Dymet
When my kids come and ask me for something - "Dad, can you help me? Dad, can I've some money? Dad, can you drive over to my friend's place?" - Sometimes I say yes, other times I say no.
They get "no" when they ask the wrong thing, or the wrong way, or when they've just done the wrong thing. But they get "yes" far more often than they get "no"- because, I'm their dad. I love them. I'm there for them. My heart is to bless them.
Jesus said, ask, search, knock and it will be given to you. If you can give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask Him?
Why is it that we can have such a low view of prayer? What's the matter with us that we somehow imagine that God doesn't want to bless us?
When are you and I, well when are we going to start taking prayer seriously? Really?
