Dr. Dan Edney
Dr. Daniel P. Edney is board certified in Internal Medicine and practices fulltime at the Street Clinic in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Dr. Edney graduated Summa Cum laude with a B.S. in Chemistry and Biology from William Carey College in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine earning the Doctor of Medicine Degree. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Virginia Hospitals in Charlottesville, Virginia. Dr. Edney currently serves as a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a member of the American Medical Association, serving in its House of Delegates; the Mississippi State Medical Association, serving as it’s Speaker of the House of Delegates; and is a member of the American College of Physicians. The passions of Dr. Edney’s life and ministries are outgrowths of his recognized spiritual gifts of healing and teaching. The spiritual gift of healing has prompted his calling into medical evangelism utilizing his private practice of medicine as well as volunteer medical work. Dr. Edney enjoys volunteer medical missions work both in his home community and around the world. He feels a strong calling into evangelistic medical disaster response having served on medical missions teams working disasters in Indonesia, Lebanon, the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and others. The spiritual gift of teaching is the driving force for the On Call radio broadcast ministry teaching listeners vitally important information to help in making their own healthcare decisions. Dr. Edney also enjoys teaching practical medical ethics to medical students and teaching residents in Internal Medicine. However his favorite teaching format is that of Sunday School and Discipleship Training teacher in his home church. Dr. Edney is involved locally with the First Baptist Church of Vicksburg, MS, serving as Deacon and Sunday School teacher and also serves as the Medical Director of First Baptist Church’s Medical/Dental Ministries. He is married to the former Lori Fields of Corinth, Mississippi and is the proud father of Daniel, Meredith, and Meg. |
