The Fight Against God Part 4
Friday, November 06, 2009
Anyone who disobeys God, or hates Him, hates life. That person lacks true wisdom and could never expect to find true purpose and meaning in their existence, "...he who fails to find me injures himself; all who hate me love death" (Prov 8:36).

The spirit of Amalek, recorded in the Old Testament, was a direct attack against God expecting to win. As we decipher this topic we can clearly see that this antagonistic spirit continues to rear its ugly head even in our times and even in modern day Christianity. Do you know how recognize it?
Why did God single out the Amalekite nation to declare a permanent war against them from generation to generation until they were eliminated from face of the earth? What criterion does God use to make such a decision?
Why is the fight against God so deep rooted in the heart of the human race? In spite of so many man's rebellion we continue to see God's determination to implement His divine plan for His people and upon the world in spite of the grumbling, forgetfulness, rebellion and unwillingness to accept God's agenda. No person, society or nation can stop Him from fulfilling His original plan. He and He alone controls history.
The church must not take for granted that God is slow in His anger, and above all must not think that He will not apply the same principle of judgment on those who forsake His orders. Just as He instructed Moses "Tell the people of Israel to go forward" (Ex. 14:15), much the same He is instructing His church to move forward today!
Like the Israelites, we are not called to grumble and be blinded by the antagonistic vision that ungodly men have of the world. We are to face the realities of life as we destroy historical fantasies of man’s greatness without God. We must not fool ourselves like the Israelites who believed the lie that their past without God was much better than the present realities they needed to change. God's new society of people of the kingdom are to be the leaders in all areas of life.
The church has easily catered to the people’s desires not because they want to move forward with God's perfect plan for their lives, their communities, the nation and the world, but because they want to keep them happy so they will not leave their church; they compromised the message. Is that acceptable to God?
The church must learn and understand that her authority must be backed up with miracles in her midst, those are her credentials to an unbelieving world and that when she speaks, she speaks with God's authority. The same goes for the Christians in his or her daily life, signs and wonders should be the norm and not the exception in the life of the believer. God has not changed. "For I the Lord do not change" (Mal. 3:6).
When the church once again understands the principle of God's divine intervention among his people as a witness to the unbelievers we are going to be able to debunk many diabolical theories, like evolution, that have dominated the world. The world of science will be forced to accept the fact that the world and the universe were created by God and that He controls all the laws known to men including the moral ones.
When the church does not allow God to manifest with great power, her teaching and preaching lacks much of the confirmation of God's reality, compassion and desire to divinely intervened in people's life and affairs.
Doesn't the condition of the world cry out for the reality of God's power? Yet for centuries the church has neglected, rejected, or made all kinds of excuses even to the point of making the affirmation that we do not need this divine supernatural intervention because we have all the Counsel of God's Word. The Pentecostals and charismatics are seen as strangers because of their belief in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. And some theologians and pastors go to the extreme of demonizing them, just like the Pharisees did it to Jesus. It is time for every believer to do the greater works that Jesus made reference to that we should do because he was going to the Father.
Jesus emphasized that the manifestation of God supernatural power is a sign that the kingdom of God is here. When the supernatural power of God is absent from His people we weaken His witness to the world. One of the characteristics of God's new society is the evidence of God's power with signs and wonders just as God manifested throughout all of the Old Testament and Jesus and his followers in the New Testament record.
The purpose for God to deliver His people out of bondage was to establish a new relationship with His people by manifesting his mighty power on their behalf. It was God's choice and that choice would continue with future generations if they remained faithful to His covenant. As a child of God, when was the last time that you experienced the supernatural power of God in your life?
Being free from the slavery of Egypt was a great relief for the Hebrews through the fulfillment of God's promise. This is parallel to our experience of being born again. But unless we renew our thinking with God's ideas, we will continue to live enslaved by the power of sin. God desires to truly remake us into new creatures in Christ and build his new society.
A society that accepts human sovereignty rejects the sovereignty of God. By their disobedience, they can only expect the wrath of God; this is what history reveals. Man's determination to confront God will always experience the same defeat. In the words of Jesus, "No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other…” (Matt 6:24).
It is one thing for God to say who He is. And another thing for Him to perform according to His power. God knows that it is not sufficient for human nature to see His great power at work in all of creation in order to believe Him. Therefore, He must manifest His power in such a way that there should be no question about His divine intervention on behalf and benefit of His own as a witness to others regardless of their response to His manifestation.
"I am the Alpha and the Omega, 'says the Lord God,' who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty." (Rev. 1:8). It was this understanding of Christ being the great I Am that gave the disciples great confidence that they could change the nations for the glory of God just as Moses had been sent to change the Hebrew society for the glory of God.
Do you think Moses felt honored by God’s calling to such a marvelous task? Well think again. God is asking him to stand before the most powerful man of his time, Pharaoh, and asked him to let millions of slaves go free. Moses did not think he had the courage to make that demand. Most likely, he was thinking that the only way to liberate the Israelites was by means of the sword and those Hebrews were not armed and lacked the will and the training to carry out such uprising. But God's task are not by to be accomplished by human power or might but by the Spirit of God.
When God’s divinely appointed time came to deliver the Hebrews; He did it with great manifestation of His power; He exalted His new society in the eyes of all Egypt and those nations who later learned the supernatural details of their mighty deliverance. Can America be delivered from this obvious collapse? Who determines it, God or man?
Just as the Pharaohs of old became everything [almighty]: divine ruler, interpreters of life and mediator between men and the gods; he was the head of the state and head of the church; he also appointed priests that were under his service. Do you see a parallel with our times and how Darwinian ideas dominate and the politicians of our day have become divine also judging by the legislation they pass and the powers they attribute to themselves?
