"Hi, this is Jim Lyon." "And this is Kimberly Majeski." "Kimberly, if you could think of someone that might model for you how God could transform your mind, who in Scripture would it be?" "I would go to the Old Testament story of Daniel." "Daniel, what a great one? And this week on ViewPoint we're going to walk through Daniel's journey as we study Romans 12. It's called the R12—join us."
Answers to Questions About Life!
As a pastor I still routinely face questions. The questions asked now tend to be deeper and more consequential in personal terms than those placed on the table in my political life. Does God speak to people? Will he speak to me? How can I know if God is speaking to me? Where is God in the tough stuff? Does he cause the tough stuff? Is there a God? What about homosexuality? And what should I do about the immigrants in my community illegally? What happens to me when I die? Why doesn’t the church speak about sex more often and more honestly?
The questions are legion. They are important. They beg for answers.
Go ahead. Ask anything. It’s title of a book I’ve written, because God’s Word is a good place to start when seeking wisdom, when seeking answers. By asking questions, we search for truth. By finding truth, we are set free. By being set free, we can receive the life abundant Jesus has promised. Go ahead. Ask anything. Really! ~Jim Lyon
