To our faithful readers,
What a blessing to begin reading the Word of God together this year of 2011. As we continue reading in the Book of Genesis this week we find ourselves virtually reliving the history of mankind. God begins His Word to man by revealing the "beginning" of all things here. The all things commanded in Matthew 28:20 "begin" in Genesis and help connect the Old and New Testament as "one Word" from the Father.
As we read the Bible we find that the Word of God unlocks the mystery of how to live an abundant, successful life. The One True and Living God used more than 40 men, from peasants to kings, over a 1500-year period, to complete the Bible, which contains 773,692 words. But He allowed the word success to be used only once: This Book of the Law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success (Josh. 1:8).
God has provided no other way to be throughly furnished – fully prepared and adequately equipped to enjoy life to its fullest (II Tim. 3:16-17).
Once we grasp this truth, the Old Testament, as well as the New, will take on new meaning. And the Bible will become the believer’s indispensable way of life.
May the richest blessings of God be yours as you read through His Word. Let’s just praise His Name together,
Pastor Rick
