Dear Friends,
Earlier we read how Moses led God’s chosen people to freedom from Egyptian slavery following the first Passover on the 14th day of the month of Abib (Ex. 12:6-18;13:4;23:15;34:18).
The offering of the Passover Lamb foreshadowed how God would offer Jesus as the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world (John 1:29; 3:16). Jesus' sacrifice on the cross gives us freedom from sin. We will celebrate His death and resurrection next week. Interestingly most Americans, whether Christians or not, celebrate this Holy Day. They call it Easter!
Whether people realize it or not, or if they deny Him or not, everyone in the world is affected by Jesus. Every time we mention the year we speak of His birth. Most of the world's calendars are set up as "before or after" Jesus was born: BC or AD. Properly stated, we're in AD (the year of our Lord) 2012.
Every person who reaches the age of accountability will be touched in an even greater way. Each one will answer the most serious question ever asked. It was posed by Pontius Pilate: What shall I do then with Jesus? (Matt. 27:22). A person's answer will determine where he spends eternity.
All of us who have accepted Jesus as Lord of our lives are encouraged to spread His message. The things that thou hast heard of Me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men who shall be able to teach others also (II Tim. 2:2).
Let’s praise Him for who He is – the Savior of the world!!
