To our faithful readers,
This week we celebrate Thanksgiving, and my dad, Dr. John Hash, founder and director of Bible Pathway Ministries, the staff, and I wish you a very blessed holiday. This celebration is truly a Christian holiday initiated by the Pilgrims who offered thanks to our Heavenly Father for bringing them into this new land, America, and providing them with the means to survive.
That same Heavenly Father, God, provided the words for “our” survival for the few brief years of life we have here on earth to the Apostle Paul as he wrote the Books of Romans, and I & II Corinthians.
You will find that the first eleven chapters of Romans explain all that God has done in sending His Son, Jesus, to pay the ultimate penalty for our sins, our only hope for a restored relationship with the Creator. The last five chapters show the mercy and grace given to those who do receive this new life in Christ Jesus and how to live life to the fullest in the Light.
We read a lot of practical wisdom offered by the Father to a church in chaos in I Corinthians. In II Corinthians Paul relays his often difficult experiences while his one aim is to please Jesus (5:9). The message of II Corinthians is that we, too, can live like Paul as new creatures (5:17) who will one day stand before Christ (5:10).
