To our faithful readers and radio family,
As we come to the conclusion of the Book of I Kings we realize that the theme of this book is about the need of wholehearted devotion to the One True God. We read: The people … fell on their faces: and they said, The Lord, He is the God; the Lord, He is the God (18:39).
God appeared to Solomon twice and blessed him more than any man alive at that time. He was Israel’s wisest, wealthiest, and most powerful king (Chap. 3-10). Later, Solomon disobeyed the Lord and married foreign wives, who turned his heart’s affection to false gods (Chap. 11). Solomon’s downfall became a snare to the entire nation (Chap. 12-22).
As we read the Book of II Kings we see that each king is remembered for a single personal choice, he did that which was good . . . (or) that which was evil in the sight of the Lord. These two Books emphasize the fact that personal victory is achieved only by staying focused on the Lord and His ways.
Let us rejoice and praise the Lord because He has given us the choice to worship Him in spirit and in truth.
