To our faithful readers and radio family,
Continuing the “Good News” of Jesus, the Son of God, the Book of Acts picks up where the Gospels stop. Following His death, burial, and resurrection, Jesus gathers His followers and outlines their mission. We read the last words He spoke to all of us before ascending on into heaven. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth (1:8).
The people of God have an urgent message to take to everyone. It’s the “Good News” that Jesus is the answer to the deepest needs of the human heart. It’s the promise that He is coming back. These Christ-followers basically “birthed” the Church. They took this “news” and told it and in the process we are told they turned the world upside down (17:6).
We encourage you to read carefully the progression of the first Church and how they continue to grow in number. They met together continually for prayer (1:14); confessed their sins and were cleansed (3:19); stood steadfast for Christ (7:55); and witnessed to others (8:26). We see where Gentiles receive the Holy Spirit. Then as the message begins to be revealed to the entire world we read about Paul’s first missionary journey And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost (13:52).
We join them as we praise His Name together!
