You cannot hear God when you’re rebellious
Ezekiel 12:2 “Son of man, you are living among a rebellious people. They have eyes to see but do not see and ears to hear but do not hear, for they are a rebellious people.” NIV
What does a rebellious people look like? To understand a rebellious nation, we must identify their characteristics- a people defying its government or ruling body of authority. They are advocating for laws that satisfy their rights or morality.
A people that have this behavior as their moral code will not want to be obedient to the voice of God, or to see a dilemma of their ways. Truth that comes from God it is the highest form of reality, however, a rebellious people will not receive this truth. There has to be a softening of the heart; repentance to turn back to the ways of God and allowing God to teach them how to serve Him with a willing spirit.
