Romans 1:14

I am under obligation [to share the gospel] both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to the wise and to the foolish.

We do not have the right to be silent about what Jesus Christ has done for us!

Certainly we have an obligation to God to share Christ with people (2 Corinthians 5:14-21), but why did Paul feel this obligation to people he didn’t know?

He was under obligation, because he was a steward of the gospel and was responsible to pass it on to the people it was given for. God has entrusted the gospel to us, not to keep it to ourselves, but to share with everyone His magnificent message of grace.

Paul was under obligation because he had been in the same situation as those without Christ and God had reached out to him. If I have been saved from a terrible situation, and I have the power to rescue others in the same situation and I do nothing about it, I am not doing right.

There are some things about which we have to speak out. If my child is about to chase a ball onto the street when a car is coming and I don’t shout out to stop him, I am not doing right.

Today God wants you to remember that sharing Christ with those around you is not just a nice idea — it is your responsibility before God.
