Theme Park Compassion
By Rick Boxx

Joel Manby, CEO of Silver Dollar City, went undercover to learn more about his organization, while the TV show “Undercover Boss” captured his lessons learned. What he discovered was real life for his staff.

He encountered single moms struggling to afford day care, a man who lost his home due to fire and a previously homeless single mom. Compassion welled up inside of him.

Out of that compassion, generosity flowed and true concern for those who had served Silver Dollar City faithfully. Due to his experiences, his company now has new policies and practices that show true kindness for his staff.

Colossians 3:12 teaches, “Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.”

Do you know who in your workplace needs compassion?
