Optimism and Hope
by Rick Boxx
November 26, 2009

Good stewardship comes easier with the right attitude. Our health and our work can be impacted dramatically by a negative outlook.

In an article in The Kansas City Star Parade magazine optimism was directly linked to patients being healthier. Several studies revealed higher survival rates for those with an optimistic outlook.

Dr. Seligman was quoted as saying, "A pessimist habitually views setbacks as permanent, unchangeable, and pervasive." That kind of attitude can also drag our work down.

As followers of Jesus we have reason for optimism that others may not. We have hope in our ultimate future and that God has a plan for our life.

Romans 12:12 teaches, "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." If you struggle with pessimism remember that God is our hope.
