Cliff’s Courage
June 16, 2011
By: Rick Boxx

While having breakfast with Cliff, my 92 year old friend, I asked him about his past deeds and his potential legacy. Over the years I’ve heard several amazing stories from Cliff, but I had not heard what he shared next.

“Many years ago,” Cliff said, “the major country clubs in the area would not accept Jews as members. I knew that was wrong so I quietly worked behind the scenes to force membership to be open to Jews. Today Jews are accepted in those clubs.”

Paul taught in 1 Corinthians 16:13, “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.”

In the workplace, as well as in country clubs, injustices sometimes abound. Thank God for courageous men like Cliff.
