The Control Tower
By Rick Boxx
January 21, 2011

In his sermon, Pastor Stan asked us to imagine we were flying a plane at 10,000 feet when we hit some turbulence. Looking to avoid pain, we radio the control tower to allow us to change altitude. However, the tower refuses.

Later we learn, increasing our altitude would have ushered us into a worse storm, and decreasing it would have caused us to crash into a mountain. Stan's point was that God is like the control tower. He has a flight plan that's best for us, even when it doesn't make sense.

If you're going through a storm right now remember Proverbs 3:5, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight."
