Listening and Learning
By Rick Boxx
January 12, 2011
In George W. Bush's new book, "Decision Points," he describes a time when a regulation critical in helping with the war on terror was about to expire. To get this law renewed he needed signatures from several key members of his staff. But word came back that several of these officials were not willing to sign and were ready to quit if the policy was renewed.
President Bush was advised by some to let them resign, but after listening and learning about their concerns, he modified the policy, appeased his team, and renewed this important legislation.
Proverbs 1:5 teaches, "Let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance."
If you have a revolt on your hands, make sure you take time to listen.
