Day 106

FORSAKEN ONE

About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice...
"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
MATTHEW 27:46

FROM THE FATHER'S HEART
My child, I know you've been separated from a loved one either as a child or as an adult. God could not look on the sin that I carried to the cross - your sin. To be separated from My Father - even briefly - was agony for Me. To cry out and know that He heard Me but would not respond sounds cruel. Yet that happened because of love, so you would never have to experience heaven's rejection. I love you that much, and I will never forsake you.

A GRATEFUL RESPONSE
Although I may feel abandoned or rejected by those here on earth, Lord, I have never been truly forsaken. You turned Your back on Your only Son, Your most prized possession, so that I could be adopted as Your own. You were forsaken so that I could be forgiven. Thank You for never leaving me.

SIMPLE TRUTH

We are forgiven but not forgotten.
