Darrell and Julie Schuster are the guests on this weeks program. The couple joins Gerry at the Fishers of Women Retreat in Ontario Canada. They discuss how thy enjoy spending time in the outdoors together and how this time has allowed them to grow closer together.
Knight & Hale Game Calls co-founder Harold Knight is the guest on this week’s program. Harold shares a hilarious story of an event that took place in a McDonald’s restaurant and how they use that story time and again before they speak at game dinners. Harold goes on to tell how at 11 years old he shot a goose at Christmas that had a band on it’s let with a scripture verse. Because of that scripture verse and that bird he came to receive Christ as his Lord and Savior. This is an out-of-the box ministry story.
A visit to a Wisconsin dairy farm is the location of this week’s program as Gerry interviews Charlie and Yvonne Weihrouch. Charlie shares about his time deer hunting with his kids and the couple shares about how God saw them through a tragedy in their lives. Their oldest daughter Megan was killed in a farming accident that no one could have ever foreseen.
Ex football pro Dave Szott joined Gerry and other guest speakers on a pheasant hunt in South Dakota. This is a ministry called Fathers to Future Men where boys who have been physically and/or emotionally abused by their fathers get the chance to hear from godly men who are leaders in the economic, pro-sports, and hunting world. Dave shares about his and his wife’s struggles with their son Shane who was born with major developmental issues.
Gerry visits with Shane Hendrickson at the Fisher of Men Retreat in Canada. They discuss this ministry outreach and how men are coming to Christ. Shane gives his testimony and tells how God has blessed then in the Caribbean as they distributed Bibles. They received a free gift of a cruise on a sailing yacht. This was an answer to a lifelong desire without even asking.
Jim McNamara shares about his love for hunting water fowl and has had the opportunity to do it in many places across the US. One event during the cold months of winter almost cost him his life as his boat swamped and he went into the freezing water.
Pro archery shooter Kathy Caudle shares about life in the pro archery world, how she and the family got involved in hunting, and the sport of archery. Also discussed is how Christ is presented to the pro archers on the tournament circuit.
Craig Johnson who coordinates God’s Great Outdoors Field Teams shares with Gerry about the 9 different events they do each year to reach unsaved sportsmen. The two talk about the many different ways that you can reach outdoorsmen for Christ.
This weeks interview is with a man named Monte Scott who came to Christ at a game dinner put on by Harmony Bible Church in Danville, Iowa. Monte shares how he prayed to receive Christ at this event that was focused towards outdoorsmen. Gerry spoke later at the church game dinner and 17 people signed decision cards that they had made a first time decision to receive Christ.
The Fishers of Men Retreat in Ontario, Canada is the location for this weeks program. Gerry and his guest Jeff Swan discuss what it means to be a godly man.
