About Wonderful Words of Life

Wonderful Words of Life is the worldwide radio voice of The Salvation Army. It is a 15-minute program packed with lively dialog, the best Salvation Army music in various styles, and inspirational teaching. Its messages will stir your spirit and its music will soothe your soul.

The current series is entitled LIVING LIGHT. In the Bible, there are over 300 names given to the Central Figure of all Scripture – Jesus Christ. Each name reveals a different portrait of the Savior. One name for Jesus that will be the theme for this series is “Living Light.” In this world where uncertainty about the future is a universal concern and despair is at an epidemic proportion, many are struggling to find the way to peace and resolution. Listen to each program of this series and allow Jesus Christ to shine the Light of His salvation, wisdom, and guidance on you. The Palm Sunday and Easter programs feature music and messages specially chosen to celebrate His glorious resurrection.

Hosts of Wonderful Words of Life

The hosts on Wonderful Words of Life are all members of The Salvation Army. The speaker is Lt. Colonel Vern Jewett (on left in photo), the Divisional Commander of the Florida Division. His life-long experience in ministering to others, as well as his preaching and teaching of the Scriptures is evident in the friendly and communicative style he brings to the microphone. The other featured personalities are co-announcers Major Willis Howell (right in photo), the Divisional Commander of the North and South Carolina Division, and Mrs. Jude Gotrich (center in photo), popular concert/recording artist and Worship Development Director in The Salvation Army USA Southern Territory. With much enthusiasm these two engage in dynamic dialogue as they share listeners’ feedback, personal stories, or guest interviews before previewing the message for the day.
