Jesus came to save us from the wrath of God. In today’s society, we’ve lost sight of God’s anger and hatred of sin, and we spend a great deal of energy trying to manage our sin. We want to justify the way we live even though we know, deep down, that it’s wrong. We’ll do anything to rationalize our immorality. As the Apostle Paul says, we take the unnatural and turn it into “natural.” In today’s message, we’ll look at the darkness of the human heart.
These messages, based on the book of Romans, show that in the gift of salvation we see God at His best; the cross, and the events surrounding it, is God’s farthest reach. Here we see the full range of His attributes, all converging together in an ambitious rescue plan for us as sinners.
The over-riding message of the series is that the Gospel, properly understood, is not simply to believe on Christ at a point in time, but rather to understand why we need the Gospel every single day. We must depend on Christ to represent us to the Father daily. Here is hope for great sinners and instruction for struggling saints.
