Avoiding Extremes
By Rick Boxx
April 13, 2011

When the Church engages in community wide projects it often comes with conflict. Many conflicts arise from the decision about how inclusive or exclusive to be in regards to people from other denominations or religious beliefs.

Some will build a long list of minimum requirements for people to join the group, while others will liberally embrace anyone and everyone.

Solomon taught in Ecclesiastes 7:16-19, “Do not be overrighteous, neither be overwise- why destroy yourself? Do not be overwicked, and do not be a fool- why die before your time? It is good to grasp the one and not let go of the other. The man who fears God will avoid all extremes.”

When trying to bring peace and prosperity to your community, remember God’s grace and avoid extremes.
