A Humbling Experience
by Rick Boxx
April 28, 2010

Kris Den Besten, CEO of Vermeer Southeast, shared with our Faith Incorporated audience how he implemented the principles in his book, SHINE, in his business. His transparency was refreshing, as he shared a humbling experience.

A former employee had seen a copy of Kris' book and confronted Kris with the belief that he had not been treated according to the principles in the book. Kris humbly admitted that the principles were the goal, but sometimes he messed up. Kris asked for this former employee's forgiveness.

1 Peter 5:5-6 teaches, "God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you at the proper time."

Do you respond with humility when confronted with your past mistakes?
